“Kanguva” is Suriya’s first pan-Indian big-budgeted fantasy movie. Though he has a steady market in Telugu states and Kerala outside the traditional Tamil market, he is aiming to crack the North Indian belt with this film.
No wonder he began promotions first in Mumbai. He is concentrating on the Hindi market, ensuring that the Hindi version of the film receives strong openings. His films usually take strong openings in Tamil Nadu and Telugu states. So, he wants to give extra push to the Hindi version this time.
While some of our Telugu top stars have successfully entered the Hindi market, the Tamil stars, with the exception of Rajinikanth, have not been able to achieve the same success. Suriya believes that “Kanguva” is an appropriate subject that will also appeal to the Hindi audiences.
