Legendary actor Mohanlal declared that the Telugu film industry is currently the best in India. Reflecting on his experiences, he recalled sharing screen space with several iconic Telugu actors, including the late Akkineni Nageswara Rao, in “Gandeevam.”
Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran attended a promotional event for their upcoming film, L2: Empuraan, which is set to release on March 27 in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi simultaneously. The film is being distributed in Telugu by Dil Raju’s SVC banner, and he was also present at the press meet held today in Hyderabad.
“Earlier, my Malayalam films used to be remade in Telugu. Now, we are directly releasing them in Telugu. L2: Empuraan is not just a sequel to Lucifer—we had planned the story as a trilogy from the very beginning, and this is the second part,” Mohanlal stated.
“We couldn’t release Lucifer at a pan-India level, but we are glad to do so with L2: Empuraan. The response to advance bookings has been phenomenal. The Telugu audience has always been special, and we are delighted to collaborate with veteran producer Dil Raju garu,” Prithviraj Sukumaran added.
Prithviraj, who made his Telugu debut in Prabhas’ Salaar, is currently playing a key role in SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film.
Praising Prithviraj’s directorial vision for Empuraan, Dil Raju said, “Rajamouli, Prashanth Neel, and Prithviraj Sukumaran have taken Indian cinema to a global level. With Empuraan, Prithviraj joins this elite list. The visuals in the trailer completely blew my mind.”
