Veteran actress Manorama passes away

Veteran actress Manorama who had acted in more than 1000 movies in Tamil and Telugu languages is no more. She breathed her last on Saturday night at Apollo hospital in Chennai. She was 78.

She had started her career in late 1950’s in Tamil films as lead heroine and went on to feature in almost many movies. She had acted with MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, NTR,Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, and Nagesh. In Telugu films she was more popular as character artiste. Rikshavodu, Arundhati, Bava Nachchadu..were some of her popular movies in Tollywood.
