Vijayashanti will not be contesting the ensuing Telangana assembly polls. She made it clear that she will stick to her job as star campaigner of Congress party. The former MP from might contest for Loksabha polls next year.
“It is my decision not to contest in the Assembly polls. It is not party’s decision,” she told the media.
Vijayshanti who has stopped doing films after she entered into politics was in TRS till 2013. She joined Congress just before 2014 elections and unsuccessfully contested from Medak Assembly constituency. Since then she has been inactive in politics but has now returned to Congress party’s election campaign.
