Why a midnight glimpse release for NTR’s Dragon?

Fans of NTR have been eagerly waiting for the title announcement and first glimpse of his upcoming film (Dragon is under consideration as the title) directed by Prashanth Neel. The latest buzz in film circles is that the glimpse video will be released late at night on May 19.
The reason behind this unusual midnight launch is reportedly linked to another major announcement expected on May 20, which marks NTR’s birthday.
Speculation is rife that director Trivikram Srinivas and NTR’s much-discussed project “God of War” could be officially announced on the same day.
To maintain a gap between the two updates and allow both announcements to enjoy separate attention, the makers of “Dragon” are said to have planned the glimpse release just hours before midnight leading into NTR’s birthday celebrations.
Expectations are sky-high for the project as Prashanth Neel has already delivered blockbusters like K.G.F: Chapter 1, K.G.F: Chapter 2, and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire. Fans believe the combination of Neel’s larger-than-life storytelling and NTR’s mass appeal could create another big-screen spectacle.
The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Shooting is progressing at a measured pace, which recently led the makers to postpone the release from June 2026 to June 2027.
