Vijay’s ‘Mersal’ is setting box-office on fire in Tamilnadu. Still the movie has run into controversy over the scenes that had criticized the demonetization drive and GST implementation. It also highlighted the tragedies of Gorakpur Child deaths and Guntur Hospital incident in which a child died after being bitten by a rat.
BJP has made huge controversy over demonetization and GST issues in the film and demanded the deletion of the scenes from the movie. Bucking to the pressure, the producer has agreed to remove them shortly.
On the other hand, the film’s dubbed version ‘Adrindhi’ is gearing up for release on 26th October in Telugu states. Now comes the question –would these “controversial scenes” be retained in Telugu or chopped off before hand?
