This is biggest ever deal in South Indian movie industry. Zee TV has bought all India satellite rights of Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ aka ‘2 Point 0’ for record amount. The network bought the satellite rights of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages altogether for Rs 110 Cr.

As per the deal, Zee TV can air the movie in all Indian languages. Shankar is directing it with the estimated budget of Rs 350 Cr and the production house, Lyca productions, has already recovered 30 percent of its toal production cost from this deal.

Raju Mahalingam of Lyca productions has confirmed the news in a tweet, “It’s TRUE. Lyca Productions gets a partner in Zee for our Mega Opus 2.0 Satellite!!!”

Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘Baahubali 2’ was sold by the producers in different languages to different entertainment channels. The movie is estimated to have fetched the producers about Rs 85 Cr as satellite rights from all languages. So, Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ has created record.

The movie is in last leg of shoot and it is slated for Deepavali release. It is sequel to the blockbuster ‘Robo’.
