What’s it about?
During his schooldays, Sai Srinivas (Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas) likes Vasundhara. But without informing him, she leaves the school. On that very day, he decides not to get charmed by girls or aunties, as they are ‘anti’ to his philosophy.
Coming to the present time, he now runs a startup company that does more than Rs 10 crore annual business. Putting his personal beliefs in a dustbin, he falls in love with Kaumudi (Nabha Natesh) at first sight. She is the daughter of a powerful Nizamabad leader Jayapal Reddy (Prakash Raj). The twist in the tale comes when his ‘ex-lover’ Vasundhara (Anu Emmanuel) comes into his life again. Another twist is that his ‘ex-lover’ and his ‘current lover’ are related, and there is a real estate businessman cum don Gaja (Sonu Sood), who wants to take revenge on Jayapal Reddy. How all these threads get connected, and will they end on a happy note?
Analysis
In ‘Alludu Adhurs’, Prakash Raj is made to believe that he is suffering from a psychological problem of imagining things. He sees the persons that others cannot. He hallucinates. While watching this film, the first thing that comes to our mind is: how did director Santhosh Srinivas convince the producer? There is no story.
Was Santhosh played the same trick to a producer as Bellamkonda Srinivas did to Prakash Raj in the film – of making him ‘imagine things’ that do not exist?
There is no script, per se. The director must have believed he is hired for making kichidi, not a film.
His recipe for this kichadi goes like this – 1) three scenes of ‘Adhurs’ 2) two scenes of ‘Alludu Seenu’ 3) five scenes of ‘Kandireega’ 4) two scenes of ‘F2’ 5) choice of scenes from other films. Mix them well and serve.
Plus, he places songs and fights wherever he felt necessary. The conflict is silly, the reason is outlandish, the narration is clichéd.
Coming to the performances, Bellamkonda Srinivas has attempted his hand at comedy, which hardly works. Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj must have followed what the director told them without questioning a word. Anu Emmanuel looks better and talks sense in this film, where all other characters speak gibberish. Nabha plays a regular commercial heroine.
There is not much to talk about the technicians’ work.
I will end this review with a dialogue one character mouths, which echoes my state of mind while watching the film – “endhira bhai ee lolli.”
Bottom-line: ‘Alludu Adhurs’ is an attempt to put all senseless scenes into one film.
