I used cuss words in ‘Gangs of Godavari’: Anjali

“Gangs of Godavari” directed by Krishna Chaitanya, stars Vishwak Sen, Anjali, and Neha Shetty. Anjali engaged in a conversation with the media today regarding the upcoming release of the film, which is slated for May 31st release.

Uttering profanities freely

“Gangs of Godavari” has cast me in a role that is completely new to me. It represents a complete embodiment of myself. Upon hearing the story from director Chaitu (Krishna Chaitanya), I promptly inquired about the permissibility of such profane language by the censor board. However, it appears that a significant number of them were included in the final cut of the film. “Gangs of Godavari” diverges from my previous work, and my character was meticulously crafted.

No make-up look

I abstained from using heavy makeup for the character portrayal of Rathnamala. Given that the narrative takes place in the 1980s, we engaged in extensive experimentation. Rathnamala is a multifaceted character. Vishwak portrayed a role that was boisterous and lively, while my role is even more louder. As I am from the Godavari districts, I naturally possess the Godavari accent. However, the accent I employed for my character differs slightly from the typical Godavari dialect, which is usually heard in lanka villages of the region.

Interconnected or interrelated characters

Vishwak and I share a connection in the movie, as our names – Rathnamala and Rathnakar – are similar. Director Krishna Chaitanya will finally get a break with “Gangs of Godavari” and the film is a highly entertaining film that will be thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.

Upcoming Projects

I am currently working on three projects in the Tamil language and have recently signed another project in Telugu after completing “Game Changer”. There is also something happening in Malayalam.
