The Dasara festival season has come to an end. The long holiday period saw three films testing their luck at the ticket windows. The results are out.
‘Godfather’, which received positive reviews and decent word-of-mouth, stood at the first position. ‘Godfather’ was the preferred choice for the audiences this festival season. However, the film’s collections are pretty ordinary considering the star status of Megastar Chiranjeevi.
The film collected just about Rs 10 Cr share in the Nizam region and $1.05 million gross. Normally these collections would have come in the first two days for a Chiranjeevi starrer. But post-COVID-19 and after the disastrous result of ‘Acharya’, the film didn’t receive hype. Moreover, there was a lot of negative talk before the release. Still, it has managed to post decent numbers.
Nagarjuna’s ‘The Ghost’ was rejected by the audience on the first day itself. It opened on the lowest number and never saw growth.
‘Swathimuthyam’, a small film won good reviews, but the audiences have not shown much interest to check this out. It may gain traction on OTT and TV.
