Is Jathi Ratnalu turning into another Uppena?

The box-office is unpredictable. It throws many surprises regularly. ‘Jathi Ratnalu’ is the latest example. The film received a unanimous verdict from critics that it is an unapologetic comedy caper. “Put logic aside, laugh out loud,” is what the critics said.

But the film is turning out to be a bigger hit than expected. The audiences have lapped up. It has been a long time that audiences have watched an out-and-out comedy film. The lockdown effect and the prolonged corona crisis seemed to have made youngsters find solace in the movies. They are making any well-made film into a huge hit, even if they defy the logic or remind several old movies. 

‘Jathi Ratnalu’ is running to packed houses everywhere from Karimanagar to Kakinada, Amalapuram to America. 

Like the recent ‘Uppena’, which surprised the trade pundits, this new comedy caper is also turning into a huge blockbuster. We have to see how far this film would go in terms of collections. 

Starring Naveen Polishetty, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna as the misfits, ‘Jathi Ratnalu’ is directed by Anurag, and produced by Nag Ashwin.
