The Sankranthi 2022 festival witnessed the release of four movies – Bangarraju, Rowdy Boys, Hero, and Super Machi.
Expectedly, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya starrer ‘Bangarraju’ emerged as the only choice for the audience. The family entertainer has raked in a big amount in the domestic market, especially in Andhra Pradesh. ‘Bangarraju’ has approximately collected Rs 20 crore share in the domestic market, which is a record for a Nagarjuna starrer. The theaters in Andhra Pradesh saw housefull collections.
However, ‘Bangarraju’ underperformed in Telangana, and it failed to attract the USA audiences as it received just about $200k weekend haul in the USA.
‘Rowdy Boys’ and ‘Hero’ have shown no impact at the box office. ‘Super Machi’, on the other hand, is a non-starter. The clear winner at the box office is ‘Bangarraju’ for the Sankranthi festival.
