The new year 2021 is here. The new year looks so exciting for the Telugu cinema industry as the world is slowly recovering from the pandemic, and the theatrical business is opening up. The releases slated for 2021 are also quite interesting.
The list is long, but we are listing out only the important movies.
The theatrical business has not fully opened up. Yet, our producers are foolishly rushing up to compete with each other for the Sankranthi thinking that the season would help them. Three Telugu films and a Tamil dubbed movie will compete with each other at this festival.
They are Vijay starrer ‘Master’, Ram Pothineni’s action thriller ‘Red’, Ravi Teja’s cop drama ‘Krack’ and Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas and Nabha starrer masala entertainer ‘Alludu Adhurs’. All these movies are targeted at mass audiences.
The real business will be noticed in summer this year. All the biggies that have completed the shoot or underproduction are betting high on this season.
Vakeel Saab
Pawan Kalyan starrer ‘Vakeel Saab’ wrapped up its shoot. The film, however, will release in April 2020. It is producer Dil Raju’s dream to make a movie with his favorite hero Pawan Kalyan. This also happens to be Pawan Kalyan’s comeback vehicle after he plunged into electoral politics and first release since ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ (2018).
Radhe Shyam
Any movie that stars Prabhas ought to be the most-anticipated biggie in any Indian language. He has attained such craze, thanks to ‘Baahubali’. ‘Radhe Shyam’ is no exception.
The Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer has been in the making for three years. Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, the romantic drama is being filmed with a whopping Rs 250 crore budget. It will be released in five languages simultaneously. Radhe Shyam’ will hit
screens on 23rd April 2021.
Acharya
Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, the father-son duo, have teamed up to act together in full-length roles for the first time. Long in the making, ‘Acharya’ has been creating buzz for various reasons.
Directed by Koratala Siva, ‘Acharya’ is also one of the costliest productions ever in Tollywood. The film is slated for May 7, 2021 release.
BB3
The third film in the super hit combination of Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu is in progress. It also features Pragya Jaiswal and Poorna as the female lead. The masala movie carries high expectations. Slated to hit the screens on April 30, 2021.
Fighter
If not for the pandemic, the film in the first-ever combination of Vijay Deverakonda and director Puri Jagannadh would have hit the screens by now. The boxing drama will resume its work shortly. Touted to be Vijay Deverakonda’s first Pan-India project and Bollywood’s debut, ‘Fighter’ (working title) will either hit in late May or July.
F3
The sequel to blockbuster “F2” starring Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Mehreen, and Tamannah in the direction of Anil Ravipudi has begun its regular shoot. The film is going to be produced with a high budget as it carries huge expectations.
The makers the triple fun for this sequel. The film is expected to hit the screens in August or September.
Shyam Singha Roy
Costliest film in Nani’s career! He is playing a dual role. Directed by Rahul Sankritiyan, the film will hit the screens in the second half of 2021.
Sakaru Vaari Paata
Mahesh Babu’s ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ was announced in May 2020, but it has not yet commenced the regular shoot. ‘Geeta Govindam’ fame Parasuram Petla will direct this family drama. Keerthy Suresh has paired up with Mahesh Babu for the first time.
‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ will release on August 7, 2021. Thaman is scoring the music.
RRR
The biggest of all is undoubtedly Rajamouli’s pan-Indian project – RRR. Since this is the first movie that Rajamouli is comping up with ‘Bahubali’ movies, which had created history at the Indian box-office, the entire movie world is keenly observing it. The film has been delayed for various reasons.
The makers have now released a new poster announcing that 2021 will be the year of ‘RRR’. Rajamouli is planning to release it for the Dussera festival.
Starring NTR and Ram Charan as freedom warriors, ‘RRR’ has an estimated budget of Rs 400 crore. Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, and Ajay Devgn will be seen in other vital roles.
