Dasara 2025: Balayya, Rishab Shetty, and Sai Tej compete

Dasara 2025 movies

The Telugu film industry has adopted a common trend of announcing the release dates of big movies well in advance, often nearly a year earlier. Particularly, securing important festival dates and holiday periods requires extensive advance planning. For the Dasara 2025 holiday period, three films have announced their dates.

Sambarala Yetigattu

In 2025, the Dasara festival will fall on October 2nd. But the Dasara holidays in Telangana will commence September 25th. Hence, Sai Tej’s “Sambarala Yetigattu” (SYG) locked its release date as September 25, 2025. The film stars Sai Durgha Tej as the warrior. The film set in the Rayalaseema region has an unusual title. Directed by newcomer Rohith, the action drama unveiled its teaser for the title announcement recently. This will be Sai Tej’s first pan-Indian movie, set for release in five languages.

Akhanda 2

“Akhanda 2” is highly anticipated due to the tremendous success of its predecessor. It is also the third film in the superhit combination of Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu. It began its regular shooting and confirmed its release date for the Dasara period. It will arrive in theaters on October 2, 2025. Planned as a pan-Indian movie, the film will have a massive budget.

Kantara – Chapter 1

On the same day “Akhanda 2” hits the theaters, Rishab Shetty’s highly-anticipated “Kantara Chapter 1,” the prequel to the pan-Indian blockbuster “Kantara” will arrive. It will directly compete with Balakrishna’s film on October 2, 2025. “Kantara Chapter 1” will get huge hype nationwide since the earlier version was a mega blockbuster in all five languages.
