Krithi Shetty on The Warrior and her dream role!

Krithi Shetty rose to stardom quickly. With many projects in her hands, Krithi Shetty is one of the busiest actresses in the Telugu film industry. She played Whistle Mahalaxmi in ‘The Warriorr’ starring Ram Pothineni. Ahead of the film’s release, she speaks about her role and that dream character she wants to essay.

Playing a radio jockey

Having watched some of Lingusaamy’s movies like ‘Awaara’, I didn’t think twice when he offered me this role. He makes entertaining films. I play a Radio Jockey (RJ) in ‘The Warriorr’. My character’s name is Whistle Mahalaxmi. Working on this film was a new and learning experience.

Chemistry with Ram

Ram is a livewire, before signing the film I knew that I had to work hard to match to his energy. Glad to receive the appreciation for our pairing on screen now. The two songs went viral. I got positive reports for my dancing skills. When I was learning the Telugu language, Ram’s ‘ismart Shankar’ and ‘Ready’ were part of my DVD collections to watch. I was amazed by his performance and dancing skills.

On the sets, he is quite friendly. I was initially nervous about sharing screen space with him. On the first day itself, I understood he was a cool guy and has the patience to make us feel comfortable.

Foraying into Tamil

‘The Warriorr’ is also simultaneously releasing in Tamil and it is my first movie in Tamil. I have also signed a straight Tamil film opposite Suriya. Lucky to get many offers in Telugu and Tamil in a short span.

Dream role

My dream is to do an action-oriented role.

Current projects

My next release will be Nithiin’s ‘Macharla Niyojakavargam’ and ‘Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali’. I have also signed a film with Naga Chaitanya in the direction of Venkat Prabhu.
