2018 was a dismal year for Nani as he saw a setback in the form of ‘Krishnarjuna Yuddham’ and ‘Devadas’. Many started talking about his script selection and commented that Nani has left content-based films and is going after a mass hero image. But Nani proved everyone wrong with the success of ‘Jersey’. The film was an emotional drama that impressed the critics. All critics showered praise and gave super ratings. The film was also a success at the box office. His performance will be considered for awards.
Then, he teamed up with Vikram Kumar for ‘Gang Leader’. The film had a good story of different characters but still, it only ended as a flop. Nani was quite happy with the output but the collections were not up to the mark. Bottom-line: Nani saw mixed results this year.
In the new year, he will treat us with a couple of films that include Indraganti’s ‘V’ which is slated for March 2020 release. He is also teaming up with ‘Ninnu Kori’ director Shiva Nirvana for a film called Tuck Jagadish. Let’s hope he continues the good work.
