Aamir Khan hints at superhero film with Lokesh Kanagaraj

Aamir Khan recently hinted at a possible retirement, stating that he might return to acting only after he begins work on his long-cherished project, Mahabharat. However, considering his current lineup, it appears that Mahabharat won’t go on floors for another three to four years.

The 60-year-old actor is set to begin shooting a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema, under the direction of Rajkumar Hirani. Following that, either in 2026 or 2027, he is expected to collaborate with director Lokesh Kanagaraj on another major film.

Speaking about the project with Lokesh, Aamir revealed that the two are working on a big-scale action film in the superhero genre. “It’s a big-scale action film,” he said.

Both films—the Phalke biopic and the superhero movie—are expected to span over the next three years of his career.
