The debacle of “War 2,” starring NTR and Hrithik Roshan, has dealt a major blow to Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) Spy Universe. The film’s poor box office performance not only affected its lead stars but also forced the production house to rethink its upcoming releases.
Had “War 2” turned out to be a blockbuster, YRF had planned to release “Alpha” in December 2025 as scheduled. However, following “War 2”’s disappointing run, the studio has now decided to delay “Alpha”.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, “Alpha” features Alia Bhatt in the lead role, with Sharvari Wagh playing another key agent. This is first female-led spy thriller in YRF spy verse.
The film will now hit theaters on April 17, 2026, instead of its earlier December 25, 2025 release date.
