‘Agent’ team finally begins promotions

For “Agent,” Akhil Akkineni collaborated with director Surender Reddy. When the film was first announced, it appeared to be the hottest combination. However, as the release date approaches, it lacks hype.

After much deliberation, the producers have decided to stick with the original April 28 release date. The team is now promoting. The songs that have been released thus far have failed to generate any interest.

Akhil underwent a complete transformation to play a spy. Sakshi, a newcomer, is playing opposite him. Mammootty, a veteran Malayalam actor, has also played an important role. The film is intended to be a pan-Indian project.

However, it hasn’t generated enough buzz in the Telugu market, let alone the pan-Indian market. In the Hindi and Tamil markets, how will it compete with Mani Ratnam’s “PS2”?
