A public apology from Nandamuri Balakrishna has been requested by Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s legion of devoted fans. Words like “Akkineni Tokkineni” were used by Balakrishna during his recent speech at the “Veera Simha Reddy” event.
There was a protest at a theatre in Hyderabad by fans of the late actor Akkineni Nagewara Rao, who chanted anti-Balakrishna slogans. Fans have spoken out about how Balakrishna’s words hurt them deeply.
Both of Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s grandsons, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni, have spoken out against Balakrishna’s comments. However, Balayya’s supporters say it wasn’t meant to be offensive and was just a slip of the tongue.
Balakrishna is yet to make a statement.
