Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s previous film “Arjun Reddy” was about a young man’s passion for his lover. The protagonist, Arjun Reddy, was aggressive but not a criminal.
Sandeep Vanga’s new film “Animal,” starring Ranbir Kapoor, is about a young man’s obsession with and love for his father. In contrast to Arjun Reddy, the protagonist in “Animal” is a criminal, a gangster. This was established in the “Animal” trailer, which came out today.
The trailer begins with Ranbir Kapoor asking his father, played by Anil Kapoor, to reenact an awful incident from his childhood when Ranbir pined for his dearest father’s attention. This scenario establishes an emotional undertone for the father-son connection.
We see Ranbir and Bobby Deol engage in a brutal brawl near the end of the trailer. Rashmika Mandanna plays Ranbir’s wife Geethanjali, who reminds him that his paternal fixation has driven him insane.
The Telugu version will be released by Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film will be released in theaters on December 1st.
