Anushka Shetty’s upcoming film “Ghaati,” directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, has completed its censor formalities. Despite its intense action and heavy dose of violence, the CBFC found it within permissible limits and granted the film a U/A certificate. The final runtime has been locked at 2 hours 37 minutes.
Billed as one of the most gripping theatrical experiences, “Ghaati” showcases Anushka Shetty in a never-before-seen avatar. She plays Sheelavathi, a woman whose journey from victim to criminal to legend.
The film has been shot entirely in the raw and untouched landscapes of Odisha. With stunts performed without body doubles, the action is expected to deliver a visceral, authentic impact.
“Ghaati” also marks the Telugu debut of Vikram Prabhu, grandson of legendary Sivaji Ganesan and son of actor Prabhu, who stars opposite Anushka. Dialogues are penned by Sai Madhav Burra and Chinthakindi Srinivasa Rao.
“Ghaati” is slated for a grand theatrical release on September 5, 2025.
