AP announces restart package to theaters

In a major boost to the movie business, the Andhra Pradesh government announced some decisions that would help restart the theatrical business, which was severely affected by the pandemic.

Like the Telangana government previously announced, the AP government has decided to abolish fixed power charges to the cinema halls for the COVID19 pandemic period.

Key decisions

  • Restart package to the Telugu film industry
  • The government will provide loans to 1100 movie theaters. Interests on the loans taken will be exempted.
  • No fixed power charges for the theaters for April, May, and June 2020. The charges for the current period can be paid in installments.
