The National Film awards for year 2017 were announced on Friday. Rajamouli’s epic drama ‘Baahubali 2’ was chosen as the Best Popular movie, while new director Sankalp’s ‘Ghazi’ was awarded as Best Telugu film. ‘Ghazi’ starring Rana was produced by PVP Cinema and Matinee Entertainments.
Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali 2’ also won two more awards in technical categories (Best Action Choreography and Special Effects).
Sri Devi bagged the National Award for Best Actress for her role in Hindi film ‘Mom’. She would be receiving this award posthumously. A R Rahman takes home two of the awards for music – Best Score and Best Background score.
