“Baahubali: Before the Beginning” was announced as web series with much fanfare three years ago. Rajamouli had agreed to supervise the series while Dev Katta and Praveen Sattaru helming it. Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur had been roped in to play Sivagami.
The series planned as the story of Sivagami, her life before she became a queen of the Mahishmati kingdom.
But Netflix, which commissioned the series, scrapped it after seeing the final output. The streaming giant felt the quality of the series is not of their standards. Another team has been brought in to reshot it entirely. Now, Mrunal Thakur is said to have opted out of the new production.
She doesn’t want to play the role now. She rather wants to focus on her acting career in Bollywood than wasting time on this web series. We need to wait for the official confirmation.
