According to Nandamuri Balakrishna the proposal to shift Tollywood industry to Amaravathi or any city in Andhra Pradesh is under active consideration by the state government. The Tollywood industry which is dominated by stars and technicians hailing from Andhra is located in Hyderabad.
Since Hyderabad is capital city of Telangana state post bifurcation of the state, there have been proposals from bigwigs of Tollywood industry to shift it to Vizag. Post-bifurcation, the ruling TRS government in Telangana has been friendly with industry folks. Majority of the stars are also maintaining cordial relations with the government.
Recently at the time of Nandi Awards announcement, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu called the industry folks to shift to Amaravathi or Vizag. Now, Balakrishna is also hints the same. He was speaking to the media today at new Assembly at Amaravati. He said that no decision has been made on the proposal yet.
