In terms of Telugu films, the entire summer season has been a bust. The collections were so bad that some theaters in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh voluntarily ceased operations for a week.
A new wave of movie releases will begin this weekend. Ashish and Vaishnavi Chaitanya’s film “Love Me” will be released in theaters on May 25. This has no buzz, but the trailer drew attention.
On May 31st, three films compete at the box office. Vishwak Sen’s “Gangs of Godavari,” which has been postponed several times, is the biggest of them all. On the other hand, Kartikeya is working on a thriller with a cricket betting theme. UV Creations, a top production company, is producing the film “Bhaje Vaayu Vegam”.
Anand Deverakonda, on the other hand, has starred in a crime comedy after scoring a massive hit with his previous film “Baby”. The film “Gam Gam Ganesha” has yet to gain traction.
Although none of these films have received much hype, distributors and exhibitors are hoping that some of them become big hits and draw audiences to the theaters.
