It appears that producer Dil Raju’s plan backfired. Putting out the Telugu version of “Vaarasudu” three days after the Tamil release was a bad call. The advance bookings are dismally low. This movie isn’t getting much attention.
The Tamil version titled “Varisu”, fared no better in terms of critical reception. The collections in Tamilnadu are modest. Chiranjeevi’s “Waltair Veerayya” and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s “Veera Simha Reddy” are also currently playing in theatres. The Telugu language audience isn’t likely to pay attention to “Vaarasudu” until there is more buzz about it.
The film starring Thalapathy Vijay is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and is said to be a mashup of several different family dramas.
The film’s leading lady is Rashmika Mandanna. The film hasn’t generated much excitement so far. Plus, promotion has been lacking.
