Despite mixed reactions, not-so-great reviews, Mahesh Babu’s 25th film ‘Maharshi’ took terrific start in its first day. The film set non-Baahubali record in Nizam by raking in whopping Rs 6.38 Cr. More number of shows and slight price hike of tickets in some multiplexes have helped the film achieving this record.
Mahesh Babu is one of the few stars who have huge craze in Nizam area. No wonder then that this film set new record cashing in on the hype.
However, the film has failed to repeat the same magic in overall day 1 collections in other areas. The film has now become fifth highest grossing film on the first day in AP Telugu states as costal Andhra and Ceded have not performed as strong as Nizam area did.
In fact, East Godavari, Ceded and Nellore regions did underperform.
