The much-hyped ‘Sye Raa’ has failed to entice North Indian audiences to bring in good openings. The Hindi version’s collections are dismal. On the first day, the film’s total nett is Rs 1.75 Cr in India.
Competing with mighty multi-starrer ‘War’, the Chiranjeevi starrer received a shock. ‘War’ that brought Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff together for the first time raked in about Rs 50 Cr nett in India. ‘War’ set a record for a Bollywood movie. It beat the record set by ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ on day 1.
The recent Prabhas starrer ‘Saaho’ (Hindi) collected Rs 25 Cr nett on the first day in India.
‘Sye Raa’ was promoted in Hindi markets with no proper planning. When a biggie like ‘War’ competes with their movie, Ram Charan and his time should have gone for aggressive promotions in North India. However, the film has chances to pick it up over the weekend as the word-of-mouth and reviews are pretty positive.
