The third installment of “Drishyam” aka “Drishyam 3” released in theaters today and opened to mostly negative reviews and mixed reactions from audiences.
Venkatesh, who headlined the Telugu remakes of the first two parts, was initially expected to reprise his role in the Telugu version of “Drishyam 3.” However, the actor eventually decided to step away from the project for reasons best known to him.
Going by the reviews and audience feedback, it now appears that Venkatesh may have made the right decision.
While the twists in the final twenty minutes have received some appreciation, many viewers felt the rest of the film unfolded more like a television serial rather than a gripping thriller. The makers had heavily promoted the film as the grand finale of the franchise, which helped generate strong initial interest among audiences. However, the overall response has been disappointing.
With the film failing to meet expectations, Venkatesh’s decision to move on from the franchise now looks justified.
The senior actor is currently working on Trivikram’s “Adarsha Kutumbam” and is also expected to begin Anil Ravipudi’s multi-starrer soon.
