Dull phase at box-office, theater owners perplexed

As many as dozen movies hit the screens in the last two weeks. All those movies featured unknown stars, and small movies either with adult content or cheap production values. None of them registered numbers. Adult films like “Cheekati Gadilo Chitakottudu” though received fairly good openings but they are getting good collections in some pockets only.

Generally, the month of March is considered dull period for movie collections. But this time the severity is even high. Theater owners are not even getting rentals and power bills from the collections.

The release of ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ this weekend may give a fillip but its release is still unsure. All eyes on Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s movie ‘Majili’ that hits the screens on April 5. In April, all important movies like ‘Majili’, ‘Jersey’, ‘Kanchana 3’, ‘Chitralahari’ and ‘Sita’ are releasing.
