Popular balladeer and revolutionary writer Vangapandu Prasad Rao, who is famous for penning the song ‘Em Pillado Eldamostava’, died of ill health. He breathed his last on Tuesday in his residence in Parvathipuram in Andhra Pradesh. He was 77 and survived by his wife and three children.
Vangapandu penned the popular songs “Emi pilloda Eldamosthava”, “Jajjenaka Janare”, and “Yentrametta nadusthuvundante” to inspire the people to revolt against the oppressive feudal forces. He sang them at various meetings of Jana Natya Mandali. He attained star status as a folk singer in popular in Uttrandhra region.
R Narayana Murthy had used his songs in his films.
