Adivi Sesh + a story of twist and turns = Hit
This equation has been working out well from ‘Kshanam’. He has been consistently delivering quality thrillers in the Telugu film industry. After ‘Kshanam’, he presented us ‘Goodachari’, which is his biggest hit to date. Now, he gave us ‘Evaru’, which has also turned a super hit. The film has recovered all its investment in the first week itself.
‘Evaru’, directed by newcomer Venkat Ramji and produced by PVP, hit the screens on August 15. In its first week, the film has raked in about Rs 9 Cr worldwide. The film was sold for Rs 9.50 Cr. It almost broke even.
In Nizam, the film collected about Rs 2.90 Cr which is a good amount for this thriller. From Andhra, another Rs 2.85 Cr came in. The Ceded area has contributed Rs 90 lakhs. In the USA, the film raked in about $370k. It also performed well in Australia. All in all, its overall first week worldwide share stands at Rs 9 Cr.
‘Evaru’ is an official remake of Spanish thriller ‘The Invisible Guest’ but the Telugu version underwent many alterations to the plot including a couple of twists.
Adivi Sesh is now in much demand for thriller stories. This is also the first film in the longtime for PVP banner that is bringing good profits. The film will be fetching the production house huge amounts from satellite and digital streaming rights.
