Exclusive: Praveen Sattaru reveals why Ram's film got shelved

It is official that Ram’s new film has been shelved. The action thriller that was recently launched with much fanfare in the direction of Praveen Sattaru of ‘PSV Garuda Vega’ fame ran into problems due to the budget issues.

Confirming the development, director Praveen Sattaru tells Telugucinema.com that both Ram and he had decided to stop the project and part on amicable grounds. “As you know, I will not compromise on quality. The subject set in the backdrop of Indian military needs a huge budget. Though the budget I quoted is a way bit beyond Ram’s current market, both Ram and I have confidence that we could recover the investment. But somehow, things have not fallen in place and we have mutually decided to work on some other project some time later,” Sattaru told us.

It is said that senior producer Sravanthi Ravi Kishore who bankrolled the project felt that the budget that Praveen quoted is too way high for a Ram starrer. Although he liked the script very much, given his experience in producing movies, he felt that this budget will not be viable. So, all parties have parted ways.

What next? Praveen Sattaru is planning to take the same script to a bigger star.
