Rajamouli, Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and the team of “GlobeTrotter” (working title) are currently stationed in Kenya for a major shooting schedule. As reported earlier by Telugucinema.com, Priyanka Chopra had hinted at the location when she shared pictures from her flight to the African nation.
Due to the ongoing shoot, Mahesh Babu even missed celebrating both his son’s birthday and the Ganesh festival with his family this year.
While the team has maintained silence on social media, official confirmation has now come from Musalia W. Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs of Kenya. Sharing photos of his meeting with Rajamouli and producer K.L. Narayana, Mudavadi revealed that nearly 95% of the film’s African sequences will be shot in Kenya.
“Rajamouli’s team of 120 crew members chose Kenya after an extensive scouting tour across East Africa, settling on our nation as the primary filming destination where nearly 95% of the African scenes are being shot,” Mudavadi wrote.
GlobeTrotter is an ambitious, globe-spanning adventure being mounted on a massive budget. Rajamouli has promised to unveil a special video glimpse in November. Speculation is rife that the film is being readied for a Summer 2027 release.
