Refuting the rumors of postponement of Chiranjeevi starrer ‘Godfather’, producer NV Prasad reiterated the film would hit the theaters on October 5th as a Dasara festival treat.
“Don’t believe in rumors. Megastar’s Godfather will release worldwide on October 5th. We are kick-starting the promotions very soon,” NV Prasad said in a statement.
The rumors began with the makers going slow on the promotions. Plus, two other films (The Ghost and Swathimutyam) announced their dates on the same day and commenced publicity.
‘Godfather’ is a Telugu remake of the Malayalam hit, Lucifer. Chiranjeevi plays a kingmaker in this political thriller. Nayanthara plays his sister. Satyadev appears in a crucial role. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will be seen in a guest character.
Directed by Mohan Raja, ‘Godfather’ received a decent response to its teaser. The film’s trailer and songs are yet to come out.
