I am sticking to the basics now: Ravi Teja

Ravi Teja in his second innings as lead hero has delivered two back-to-back duds. Except his comeback movie ‘Raja The Great’, the path in his new innings is filled with thrones. With the series of flops, he says he has stopped experimenting and is sticking to the basics. As his latest film ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ is gearing up for release on November 16, Ravi Teja talks to the media.

Was trusting Sreenu Vaitla a good career choice?

Yes, it is. What’s wrong in working with him? This is my fourth film with him and he has showcased me wonderfully in the past. When he came with this story (Amar Akbar Anthony), I had my own doubts but the way he had worked on the plot has convinced me to take up.

Is ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ a revenge drama?

There is revenge theme coupled with beautiful emotions. The film has been shot in the US and has a different tone altogether along with Sreenu’s comedy. Comedian Satya will lead from the front and will impress with his hilarious comedy.

Do you think that your potential as an actor has been tapped?

I cannot answer that as it is the audience and media who should say that. I am doing whatever I like these days and there is not much choice as I cannot experiment much as whenever I did those films, the audience did not like me. So, I have stuck to the basics and doing films which have a lot of entertainment.

Is it true that you have signed a three-film deal with Mythri?

No, all those are silly rumors. I have no three-film deal with Mythri or with the banner which I am doing VI Anand’s film.

How do you deal with failure?

For me, failure is just temporary. I live in the moment and as soon as my film flops, I feel sad about it for a while and forget it the next day and start fresh.

In which film do you think you have given your best as an actor?

I am yet to do that. There is no limitation that I should only do this or not. You bring me any role I am game for it. But to do that, I feel I have some more years to go as a hero.

What kind of films do you want to do in the future?

‘Taken’ is one Hollywood film which I still watch the most. I would love to do a film like that anytime. Apart from this, I am watching a lot of Netflix these days and the concepts that are coming there are top notch. Hopefully, I would also love to do series some day.
