I may not do item songs further: Sreeleela

Sreeleela is widely regarded as one of the finest dancers among the current generation of Indian actresses. She has consistently impressed audiences with her energetic performances, and her first-ever item song, “Kissik” from Pushpa 2, turned into a nationwide sensation.

Despite the massive success of the song, Sreeleela has now hinted that item numbers may not be part of her future choices. 

The actress recently stated that such special songs are not really her preference.

Speaking during the promotions of her maiden Tamil film Parasakthi, Sreeleela said, “I took up the item song in Pushpa 2 after a lot of thought. It gave me nationwide recognition and definitely helped my career.”

However, she made it clear that she would rather focus on dancing within the narrative of films where she plays the main female lead. “I prefer dancing in films where I am the heroine. Special songs are not really my cup of tea,” she added.

Meanwhile, 2026 is shaping up to be an important year for Sreeleela, as she is also set to make her Hindi film debut.
