Actress Aditi Rao Hydari has expressed concern that her marriage may have affected her career opportunities. She stated that the Indian film industry still adheres to certain outdated value systems, often favoring unmarried actresses over married ones.
However, her remarks have raised some eyebrows, as several leading actresses including new mothers like Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, and Alia Bhatt continue to land major roles and command high remuneration. If motherhood hasn’t been a barrier, it’s debatable whether marriage alone would be.
Aditi, who married actor Siddharth last year after a long relationship, revealed that she hasn’t received many offers post-marriage.
Interestingly, Siddharth too seems to be facing a similar dry spell in his career.
What’s clear is that Aditi Rao Hydari is eager for more work and is openly seeking new opportunities in the industry.
