Anushka Shetty recently wrapped her work on “Ghaati,” a film being directed by Krish. Anushka and Krish united for the second time after “Vedham.”
The teaser for the film was also released long back, and the film’s OTT rights were snapped up by Amazon Prime Video, which the streaming platform announced last year. While the makers locked April 18, 2025, as its release date, there has been no further activity in the recent months.
Even though the date is approaching, the makers chose to remain silent and have not unleashed any promotional efforts, leading to the speculations about its postponement.
Anushka Shetty generally doesn’t prefer to attend promotional events. So, the makers are unable to organize events featuring her. The film’s lead hero, Vikram Prabhu, a Tamil star, is virtually an unknown person in Telugu states. So, the team is also mulling over how to create buzz.
We have to wait and see whether there is any truth in the postponement reports.
“Ghaati” is about a woman becoming a mafia queen in the smuggling business of Ganja. The film is set in Uttarandhra and South Odisha, where the cultivation of Ganja (Cannabis) is prevalent.
