James Cameron has once again expressed his admiration for SS Rajamouli, this time showing keen interest in the director’s upcoming global project “Varanasi.” The Hollywood filmmaker, who has often praised RRR, shares a warm professional equation with Rajamouli.
During a recent video interaction held as part of the Indian promotions for “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” James Cameron casually asked Rajamouli about his current film. The conversation quickly turned interesting and expressed his wish to visit the sets of “Varanasi” in Hyderabad.
In a light-hearted remark, Cameron said he would love to drop by if the film featured tigers or similar sequences, even joking about assisting Rajamouli as a second-unit director. The moment struck a chord online and quickly went viral.
Starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, Varanasi is being mounted on a grand scale and is aimed at a global audience. The film is expected to release in 2027 and has already generated strong buzz across social media platforms.
“Avatar: Fire and Ash” will be arriving in theaters on 19th December, 2025.
