Director Anudeep’s second film ‘Jathi Ratnalu’ featuring Naveen Polishetty, Rahul Ramakrishna, and Priyadarshi is making all the right buzz. The hilarious promos and the funny social media campaign have helped people talking about it. Anudeep made his debut with ‘Pitta Goda’, a small film, that was not a success at the box-office. But director Nag Ashwin liked his narrative skills and gave him the chance to direct ‘Jathi Ratnalu’, which hits the screens on 11th March.
“While I was overseeing the post-production of Pitta Goda, Nag Ashwin offered me the chance to direct a film on his production house. He saw one of my short films and liked it,” says Anudeep.
The young director also dismisses the reports that Nag Ashwin ghost-directed the film. “He indeed gave his inputs to his script but he never interfered in my direction. He is the kind of filmmaker who throws ideas but doesn’t insist on taking them if we don’t like,” he clears the rumors.
Further revealing about the plot, he says, “The film is a satirical comedy but doesn’t offend anyone. Jathi Ratnalu is about three innocent people. They don’t do any comedy in the film but we get laughs with their acts.”
Anudeep also says he is ‘alpa santoshi’, a person who takes joy in the smallest of things.
The performances of the three lead actors and their comic timing would be appreciated a lot, he confidently tells us.
The film sees the comeback of veteran comedian Brahmanandam. “Yes, Brahmi garu has a lengthy character. You will see him in a different role,” he adds.
Anudeep says he grew up in Sanga Reddy, a small town near Hyderabad. He wants to explore all kinds of genres barring horror.
