‘Little Hearts’ is cringe, social media declares

Among the surprise hits of the year is “Little Hearts,” starring social media star Mouli Tanuj Prasanth in the lead. The teenage love story, with Shivani Nagaram as the female lead, hit the screens in the first week of September.

Made on a shoestring budget, “Little Hearts” collected superb money and turned out to be a highly profitable venture. But despite its commercial success, the film drew flak from sensible critics who called out the silliness of its content. The critics pointed out that it glorified laziness and stupidity as virtues.

With strong box office numbers, a section of the media promoted it heavily. However, after its OTT debut, social media users have begun trolling the film for its “cringe-worthy” content.

The unanimous opinion online is that the film is a textbook example of cringe entertainment. Ironically, the makers and lead actors, who rose to fame through reels and social media, are now being trolled on the same platforms.
