Mahesh Babu not to play a James Bond?

Ever since Rajamouli made an announcement about his next film with Mahesh Babu, speculations are rife about the Superstar’s role. Mahesh Babu would play a spy in this movie is a general perception. However, our sources Rajamouli is not planning a spy thriller. Of late, Rajamouli found that his strength lies in weaving period pieces (Baahubali movies, RRR), or semi-period stories (Magadheera) or fantasy dramas (Yamadonga and Eega). So it is doubtful that he would make an out and out modern story. 

On the other hand, Mahesh Babu has not done a period movie in his entire career until now barring a cowboy film ‘Takkaridonga’. It is interesting to see what genre that Rajamouli would come up with for Mahesh Babu starrer. 

On record, the director said he’s still working on the script during this lockdown period. The film will be produced by KL Narayana who has been keeping himself away from film production from the last two decades.
