Majili: Bumper collections in first weekend

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha starrer ‘Majili’ took bumper openings in its first weekend worldwide. Collecting a whopping $650k (apprx) in USA, which is Chaitanya’s career best opening, ‘Majili’ brought cheers to the distributors.

This is fourth film in the combination of real life couple Chaitanya and Samantha and third hit for them together.

In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana too, the film posted massive numbers. In its first weekend, the film has collected a share of Rs 5.20 Cr in Nizam which again is Chaitanya’s career best. The film has collected whopping Rs 17 Cr (share) in three days worldwide. Despite the fact that the film is poor imitation of two classics ‘Mounaragam’ and ‘Sagara Sangamam’, the family audiences and today’s youth have given their thumbs up.

This being the first major film to hit the screens this summer season has helped it to achieve such good openings. It is expected to continue the same momentum in the coming days.
