RS Infotainment’s “Mandaadi,” directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, is shaping up as a high-voltage sports action drama starring Soori and Suhas. Mounted on a large scale with a strong regional backdrop, the film has completed nearly 70 percent of its shoot. Suhas is drawing attention for playing a full-fledged antagonist for the first time in his career.
The makers have locked Summer 2026 for the theatrical release, positioning Mandaadi as one of the season’s major attractions. The film is also said to be the most ambitious project of Soori’s career, presenting him in a powerful, image-defining role designed for big-screen impact.
A standout element of the film is its sailboat racing sequences. Soori performed all the demanding sea action scenes himself, without a body double. He underwent six months of rigorous training to master the sport, ensuring authenticity and raw intensity in these visually striking episodes.
Planned as a pan-Indian release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, Mandaadi aims to blend rooted storytelling with large-scale filmmaking. International action experts and advanced camera systems were used for the racing portions, with Peter Hein choreographing stunts over nearly 60 days. Made on an estimated budget of 75 crore, the final release date will be announced after the remaining shoot is wrapped up.
