The Andhra Pradesh government took a new decision regarding midnight shows and benefit shows in the wake of the High Court’s interim orders.
All Sankranthi movies, including “Game Changer,” “Daaku Maharaaj,” and “Sankranthiki Vasthunam,” have had their extra shows at 1 am and 4 am cancelled.
After recent stampede incidents, the government has altered its previous order saying it would be difficult to control the crowd coming to theaters without proper police security. The high court recently faulted the government’s decision for allowing midnight shows.
Orders have been issued to screen not more than 5 shows per day for 10 days, and one of the five shows can be held as a benefit show.
Both Nandamuri Balakrishna’s “Daaku Maharaaj” and “Sankranthiki Vasthunam” will be affected by this decision.
