Nandamuri Balakrishna has begun constructing a new home in Hindupur, located in Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh. On Friday, he and his wife performed the Bhoomi Puja ceremony for the house.
Balakrishna has been elected three consecutive times as MLA from the Hindupur constituency on a Telugu Desam Party ticket and is currently serving his third term.
Speaking to the media, he said he was delighted to perform the Bhoomi Puja for his own house in Hindupur. He recalled that his father, N. T. Rama Rao, won from the same constituency in 1985 and later became Chief Minister of the state. Balakrishna added that the people of Hindupur have elected him three times as NTR’s successor, and many had encouraged him to build a house there. “Now, Hindupur will be my new care of address,” he stated.
Though a popular actor based in Hyderabad, Balakrishna continues to balance his film career with active politics in Andhra Pradesh. He is set to begin his next film under the direction of Gopichand Malineni.
