Recently, the BBC aired an exclusive making video of ‘2.0’, much to the glee of Rajinikanth’s fans and the audience at large. The video was terrific and received a lot of impressions on social media as well.
This came at a time when the Shankar directed magnum opus was losing buzz and craze due to repeated postponements. The film’s Telugu rights were originally snapped up by Asian Films’ Sunil Narang for whopping Rs 90 Cr. However, with the constant postponements, he has backed out of it and took back his advance.
With the BBC special edition, some of the lost buzz has been reversed. Lyca Productions came up with the exclusive video in order to give a fillip to pre-release sales. Now, another big Telugu producer is said to have approached to buy the movie’s rights but not for such massive price.
On the other hand, buzz is that teaser will be unveiled on September 13 as a Vinayaka Chavithi special.
The mega-budgeted sci-fic, starring Akshay Kumar as an antagonist, will hit the cinemas on November 29.
